Guardian III Residential Range Top Fire Protection

Each year in the United States thousands of homes are damaged by fires per the NFPA.  The majority of these fires are started in the kitchen.  These fires can be prevented with the installation of the Guardian III.

The Guardian III is the leader in residential stove top fire suppression.  The system provides two heat sensors that magnetically mount underneath the exhaust hood. Providing 24 hour a day monitoring of the cooking surface.  If a fire is detected, the main CPU will release the fire suppression solution through the stainless steel tubing network and on to the fire through two specially designed application nozzles.  The wetting agent not only smothers the fire, but will also quickly lower the temperature of the fire to prevent re-ignition.  All Guardian III systems come equipped with automatic fuel shutoffs.  The main CPU will turn the stove off, electric or gas.  All this can be accomplished wirelessly.  An additional feature for the Guardian III; this system can be monitored by your home's fire / burglar alarm panel.  The main CPU provides dry contacts that can be tied directly into the alarm panel, providing additional notification upon activation of the fire suppression system.

Not only can the Guardian III be installed for the home, they're great for Adult Homes, Assisted Living, Day Care Centers (pictured above), Condo's, Motels, Schools, Churches, Civic Organizations.  Virtually anywhere there's a standard stove and hood. These systems are UL Listed and will meet local codes.

  1. We have a old fire suppression system which could really do with replacing would this provide the same kind of protection as a normal sprinkler system?

  2. The Guardian III is designed to detect and suppress a fire that starts on the cooking surface of a residential stove. The Guardian is not designed for total room protection. If the kitchen area already has conventional sprinklers, than the Guardian III would compliment that system. For example, if a fire started on the stove which did not have a Guardian III system installed, but the room has sprinklers, the room would have to be fully engulfed with flames before the sprinkler system would even activate. On the other hand, the Guardian would have operated and contained the fire to the stove top area, long before the need of sprinklers. Thus, reducing the amount of damage to the home. Remember, all fires start out as small ones, if left undetected, small fires soon become major disasters.
To further answer your post, if the fire suppression system that you are referring to is installed in a commercial kitchen exhaust hood and is in need of replacing, Hy-Test, Inc can provide that service also.
